If you want to DIY short ones, you should get short feathers, if you need to make long clip ins, you should get long feathers. Usually we will get long grizzly feathers and solide feathers and mixed them together into a bundle, them add metal clips to them. It is always recommened that for one feather hair clip, you should use no more than 5 feathers, because too many feathers on one clip makes the clip extension too fat and will not fit your hair perfectly.

A small metal jump ring

A small metal cord tip

4-5 assorted feathers

2. Put the jump ring through the ostiole of the cord tip, aso through the ostiole of the metal clip. And use your plier to squezee the ring to make sure it closed perfectly. I have heard that some people can use fingers to do this, but I can't I need to use plier.
